Prayer: The Beginning…

Prayer should have scripture all through it, yet it should be personal. Come with clean hands (Psalm 24:3–6 ). ask for forgiveness, receive His forgiveness (it is He who justifies), we are made righteous, and then pray according to His word. For me, this is the beginning of prayer and it also magnifies God, praises Him, and prophesies His will over our lives! As we pray, we should start to flow in the Spirit more, receive revelation on what to pray for, and speak His words over our lives. We pray with authority meaning we come to God as sons and daughters (not slaves, but heirs!). Pray to “our Father” and be blessed!

An example of praying and what I am teaching— is below. This was taken at 4 AMsh so do not mind the raspy voice. 🙂

Come with Clean Hands (Ask for forgiveness, forgive others, forgive ourselves, we are made righteous)

Psalm 24:3–6 (ESV)3 Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. 5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah

Ephesians 4:31–32 (ESV)31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Mark 11:25 (ESV)25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

Colossians 3:13–14 (ESV)13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

Romans 8:33–34 (ESV)33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

Come as heirs (come as son and daughters)

Matthew 6:9 (ESV)9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Galatians 4:1–7 (ESV)1 I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, 2 but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. 3 In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. 4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Romans 8:29–30 (ESV)29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Romans 8:17 (ESV)17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

Psalm 145:18–20 (ESV)18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. 20 The LORD preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

Revelation 3:21 (NKJV)21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Mark 11:24 (ESV)24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
