The more I read about Peter, the more I understand why he became the head of the church for a season. If we are not asking Jesus questions (praying to the Father, reading His word, being led by the Holy Spirit) we are missing out (wisdom and knowledge). If I was walking with the Son of the most High God, I would be asking questions too…When I meet Peter, think I will give him a manly handshake and hug.
Sidenote: God-our Father- was revealing Himself to Peter at this point. “For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.”

Matthew 16:17–19 (ESV): 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
