God is our Healer!

God wants to be our source because everything good flows from Him (James 1:17–18, Matthew 6:33–34, ). He does not want us to trust everything we see and hear unless we first check with Him (what does His word say?). Why? Because He knows the way to victory. We must check ourselves, what we see and hear, and compare it to scripture; are we trusting Him? Or are we trusting ways that are of the world or are we mixing His ways with the latest diet or workout fads? I will never tell someone that exercise or diet is bad in itself because scripture tells us that “bodily exercise” does profit some (1 Timothy 4:8); however if diet and exercise replace whom we trust for health, that can become a problem. 1 Timothy later goes on and tells us that working towards pleasing God profits in this life and the life after. If we want true health, trust God first and foremost; look to Him and His words. Let Him guide us to health…Pray over our food rather than worry over our food. “For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer (1 Timothy4:4-5).” Do not wait until we are sick to request healing from God; rather, start to trust God and His words today!

“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20–22 NKJV).

James 1:17–18(NKJV): Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

Matthew 6:33–34(NKJV): But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

2 Peter 1:2–4(NKJV): Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

1 Timothy 4:4–9(NKJV): For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. A Good Servant of Jesus Christ If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.

Exodus 23:25 (NKJV):“So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
