Satan and his minions (any created thing that opposes God’s word or God’s will for our lives) are defeated enemies, but we must realize how their tactics work and apply God’s word in our lives to overcome the weapons that might be formed. If an illness attacks our body, there will be spiritual battles that come into play and Satan will try to lie to us and steal the word (Mark 4:15) that God gave us. Therefore, we must be grounded in God’s word so we know Him and His will—which is to heal us when we are sick.
God Loves YOU!
One thing we must establish is that God loves the world and His people. Many of us know that “God so loved the world” (John 3:16), but some of us have not meditated on God’s love enough to be confident in times of trouble. A good idea to do on a regular basis—not just during trials—is to start to meditate on what the word of God says about His love for us. Even though His love for us surpasses our understanding (Ephesians 3:19), we are able to increase our understanding and establish our faith so we won’t be moved i.e. God loves me and nothing can take that away from me! If God sent a perfect son to die for us, doesn’t that mean He loves us deeply? You bet it does! Ephesians 2:4-5 declares that because of this great love which He had (and has) for us He made us alive together with Christ. This great love that God has for us gave us an inheritance which includes being called children of God—joint heirs with Christ.
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him (1 John 3:1).
God loved us so much that He made us joint heirs with His perfect Son and seated us in a place of authority—far above any principalities and/or diseases. We take that position by faith! When a faith battle comes our way, we cannot let Satan or his minions steal the word and who we are – heirs. We know we are children and we know nothing can separate us from that love which is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37-39).
God Never Sends Evil
Earlier I stated that Satan and His minions come to steal the word; this may come in the way of people who do not know any better. For example, some have said, “God puts sicknesses on us to teach us a lesson.” Even though some of these people might not mean harm or have evil intent, the words people speak in our lives might be able to take root if we do not guard our hearts. Therefore, it is very important to cast opinions that rise up against God’s word down before they can take root (2 Corinthians 10:5). Never believe God sends evil on His chosen (those who follow Jesus); a doctrine that says God is the problem comes straight from hell. God allows a lot because of free will (Genesis 1:28-31), but He will never become the very things He hates (Proverbs 6:16) just to prove a point or teach a lesson.
The truth is, the Holy Spirit is our teacher (1 Corinthians 2:10, John 14:26, John 16:13). Why would God send trials to teach us when He wants us to boldly go to Him in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16)? He also wants us to go to Jesus-the Word-to learn from Him.”Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls (Matthew 11:29).” The doctrine of justifying fallen man and accusing God (Job 40:8) for our problems does not stand-up against God’s word. I do not care who says wrong (minister, your mother, etc…), do not agree with opinions that work against Christ and His will for our lives. Jesus’ example is the example we need to go by; He went around healing people, not putting them in furnaces or putting sicknesses on them. God sends love to His people -not evil (1 John 4:8, Hebrews 13:8)!
The Righteousness of God
Why is the righteousness of God so important? We must take our position by faith because, if we do not, every mistake we make can be turned into an argument against God’s will for our lives. In other words, Satan and his minions are able to beat the snot out of us with our own filthy rags (when we rely on our own good works to please God). God’s love—and His plan through Jesus Christ—made His children in right-standing with Him. If any created thing tells us otherwise, we should cast it down (2 Corinthians 10:5). God’s love for us is unconditional and not a demon in hell can take that love from us.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us (Romans 8:31–34).
God loves us unconditionally and He will give us all things we need (1 Timothy 6:17,Philippians 4:19). This includes justification: who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? NOT a soul or any created thing that is who!
“Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies (Romans 8:33).”
Rest in knowing that we are in right-standing with our Creator through Jesus Christ! Thank you, Jesus! Through His word we are purified (John15:3) from twisted thinking which protects us from lies i.e. “You are not going to make it” or “God does not love you; you are not good enough.” Declare this day: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21)—and know God loves YOU enough to send a perfect Son to the cross. How much more will He freely gives us what we need (justification, healing, etc.…)?
God Given Authority
Now that we know we are in right-standing with God through Christ Jesus, we can boldly take authority over all the works of the enemy. God has given us His word and that includes His authority. We come—in the name of Jesus—against our mountain (enemy, sickness, problem, etc…) by speaking against a lesser way and by speaking God’s will for our lives. We have the legal right to act against the powers of darkness; we have the authority that our King provided!
Behold, I have given you the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
You Were Healed!
We know God loves us and that we are in right-standing with Him through faith in Jesus Christ. We also Know that we have the authority and sometimes we need to take the fight to hell. Take your healing by faith! How dare sickness and disease try and take our health! What is God’s will? We know through scripture that a fallen world was not God’s perfect will (Romans 5:12), so that means neither is some of the garbage we face. Jesus came to give life (John 10:10) and to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). Take it by faith and know who you are in Christ–you were healed!
