Texas State Trooper
I had a 30+ min talk with a Texas State Trooper. We talked about God, the Holy Spirit, the Constitution, politics, and we the people. He was in the military and was on the job for 11 years. Speaking for myself, I saw things newly from his–and other officers like him– perspective. He had insight that eleven years on the job showed me. Even though I disagreed with some of what he said (because of Constitutional reasons), I understand the reasons behind such things (not being able to put the bad guy behind bars, lawyers, etc…).
The truth is, many have come against good people who protect and serve who try to do their best; the media– the world– will focus on the negative of a few moments in time or a few bad apples and ignore the good that is done by many on a daily basis or even throughout a lifetime. Now comes a sad point, this reminded me of the church. Rather than condemning each other, move upward and onward. We are not in a race against each other; rather, we are in a race with each other.
Philippians 2:1–4 (NKJV)1 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
