The Deep and Honest Truth (and the Church)

Posted 2012

Now the deep and honest truth. I was up most of last night praying and I took a deep look at self. Instead of just pointing fingers at others, I checked myself and I must be honest. Thankfully, God has blessed my family, but I have made some mistakes. I could have done better as a father, a leader, as a man of God. I am not condemning myself; I am being honest with myself. Tonight I have had a deep burden for this nation and I must say the truth. Long before Obama got into office, we—as a people—failed to follow God’s ways. We allowed the immoral to dictate the normal. For example, no prayer in schools, abortion, etc…Who is truly to blame? I can say this; there is plenty of blame to go around. Has America taught the children Godly principles? As parents, did we take the time out and teach our children? Did we stand up for right when wrong wanted to be the standard? Did teachers and preachers speak out against wrong? Did we seek God and learn enough about His ways so we can pass it on to our children? Did we vote in 2008?

Tonight, I know, America will only get better if the Church awakens from its slumber. There is nothing in the Bible that says America has to fall; however, God gave the people their will when it came to a king for Israel (1 Samual) and He will allow the American people to decide as well. God is waiting on America to make the right choices.
