The rainbows are out again. It makes me think about how much God loves us; even though mankind can be stiff-necked (stubborn) at times, God still loves us enough to make the rainbow. The rainbow is another sign in scripture -and in this fallen world- that tells His people not to worry. We have an awesome God!
Update: I have had a few people who wanted to go word for word scripturally (just the covenant part) and tell me this was not the reason and that this covenant was to cleanse the earth. While they are half-right, and I would agree if there were not such things as speaking with God, revelation, and the anointing. With that said, throughout scripture God does not want His people to worry and that is one of the reasons why God gave the bow to Noah, his family, and all the creatures after the flood.
Godnote: God revealed to me (2:01 PM on 6/20/2023) that at the time He gave this covenant, there were very few–if any–evil people on earth. The covenant between Noah, his family, and all the creatures was meant for good.
Genesis 9:8–17 (NKJV)8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying: 9 “And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you, 10 and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth. 11 Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” 12 And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
Matthew 6:26–34 (NKJV)26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
