The significance of Jesus being sinless includes us seeing a true image of our Father. Throughout scripture, we see opinions but the opinions that matter most are what Jesus said and what God said. (John 17:17). Of course, if we look at the disciples and their witness to the truth, their witness supports that image of God as well. However. we must be mindful to follow them as they follow Christ because even their testimony declares Jesus as the only perfect one. For example, one of Jesus’ favorites, someone who was close to Him said this about our Savoir. “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth (1 Peter 2:22, NKJV). If we look at the fall, we see that the enemy painted a picture of who God was to Adam (Satan stole God’s word); Adam believed the lie and paid a price for believing that lie. If we look at Adam, we notice that all Adam had to do was go to the Father in his time of need. Rather than believing a lie, Adam could have heard from the Father during one of those walks in the garden. In a similar way, Jesus died for our sins so we can have access to the Father and once again we are able to boldly go to the Father as children (John 1:12-13, Hebrews 4:16). Having ministries to stand in the gap (think separation) is a blessing, but Jesus gave us reconciliation (Romans 5:10, 2 Corinthians 5:18-21) and relationship with the Father and we all are able to seek Him personally to find truth. Truth? The true image of God; eternal life, knowing Him, knowing His Son, and knowing who we are in Christ-heirs.
